Description of the house

Ground floor The masia is the living area, having 2 floors with 160 m2 each. The ground floor has a dining-room, a bedroom (with one double bed and two individual beds), a complete toilet (with a “shower room”), the very spacious kitchen (equipped with oven, vitro-ceramic cooker, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher and even a fireplace!), an space for the washing machine and another for storage. There is a table than can accomodate 12 people -when extended- in the kitchen and a table for 8 in the dinning-room. Barn and patio There are three buildings that constitute Can Matas: the masia, a barn and a stable. These three are linked by a stone wall that creates a closed patio in the middle (which is perfect to have a BBQ, a lunch/dinner outside or as a playground for children). The barn has 80 m2 in two floors and can be used as a separate space with its own roof for eating there, having a drink, reading, or for children to play. The patio is enclosed and has a large BBQ with everything required to make use of it.

Swimming pool There is a private pool measuring 10 x 5 meter Loungers provided for up to 12 people The pool is equipped with an automated system to control the water pH using salted water, therefore not using eye-annoying Chlorine. Rural environmnent

Surroundings The house is sitting in 42 hectares of fields and woods that are part of the property -including a little river that goes though it-, which offers the opportunity for good adventurous walks. Furthermore, the whole area is perfect for good walks or mountain bike tours (there are several paths marked for that purpose including the famous “Carrilet”, a 40 km path that goes from Olot to Girona -Amer is approximately in the middle of that-). Interesting places to visit are the Natural Park of the volcanic zone of La Garrotxa, located 15km from the house, and numerous medieval villages in the area (e.g. Santa Pau, Besalú) The house is 1km away from Sant Climent d’Amer, beautiful tiny village with a church, a cemetery and few houses. Shopping for food can be done in Amer, a bigger but still very nice and old village 6 kms from the house that offers you a great variety of old-style shops. Amer also has several bars and restaurants, especially around the main square with arches.
